Location of DSC Cambridge

The office is on the edge of Cambridge city centre (see map), close to the river, the Fitzwilliam Museum and many of Cambridge's most famous colleges. The penalty for this historic setting is that access is not always easy by modern modes of transport...

Please note that our office is on the first floor (American second floor) and the building has no lift (elevator). Any visitor with a disability who would find this a problem should please contact us for advice.

Getting to Cambridge and to Mill Lane

Public transport

Trains to Cambridge station - for times and fares see www.nationalrail.co.uk. From London the service from King's Cross is faster and more frequent. From the station to the office is about 25 minutes walk (see sketch map) or a taxi ride (fare about £5). There are frequent buses from the station to the city centre. Bicycle hire is available.

Buses and coaches: for services within Cambridge see http://www.stagecoachbus.com. Other operators provide services from the surrounding area and express/coach services from other cities including Oxford and Milton Keynes. Except for the Uni 4 service, all coaches and buses arrive at or near Drummer Street Bus Station, about 10 minutes walk from Millers Yard (see sketch map) or a taxi ride (fare about £5).

Airport links: Cambridge Airport no longer has scheduled services (except one flight a week from Jersey). The nearest major airports are Stansted (trains and coaches to Cambridge - coach is slower but generally more reliable) and Luton (coach service to Cambridge). There are coach services from Heathrow and Gatwick, but it is generally quicker to take a train into London and then the King's Cross-Cambridge service (see above).

Private transport

Bicycle: there is covered space for cycle parking at Millers Yard.  To plan a cycle route to Millers Yard, please see http://cambridge.cyclestreets.net

Car: there is no public car parking at Millers Yard or in Mill Lane. We recommend that anyone driving to Cambridge should use the park and ride services. If you need to drive into Cambridge, the car parks nearest to the office are at the Doubletree Hotel, Granta Place (see map) and Grande Arcade, accessed from Downing Street (see map) . Note also that Silver Street is closed to private cars except for inward (eastbound) traffic during the morning peak and outward (westbound) traffic in the evening peak. Except in the morning peak, the only way to drive towards Mill Lane, Granta Place and Downing Street is northwards along Trumpington Street from its junction with Lensfield Road and Fen Causeway.

Park and ride: for details of the park and ride sites and services click here. For visitors coming from London and the south and west, the best site to use is at Madingley Road, adjacent to M11 junction 13. From the park and ride site take the Uni 4 bus service to Silver Street, very close to the office. There is no exit from the southbound M11 at junction 13; visitors coming from the north and east should therefore use the Milton site close to the A14/A10 intersection north of Cambridge.

Location of DSC Edinburgh

The office is ideally placed in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town.  We are five minutes walk from Waverley Station and Princes Street, close by to St Andrew's Square.
